LISA KING

'Elsie Stuart' - MCLACHLAN STREET

THE ARTIST

Lisa is an Australian multi-disciplinary artist. From a successful gallery owner and curator to a vibrant oil painter and large-scale muralist, she is unstoppable on any medium thrown her way.

In recent times, she has hit the street art festival circuit and made her mark in Boston, Macau, Melbourne and Whangarei.

More of a queen than a King, her eyes are on the prize in Darwin, where she’s working on her largest mural to date.

THE ARTWORK

Lisa’s subject for the wall is Elsie Stuart – a young, strong, independent Indigenous woman. Elsie forms part of Lisa’s consistent subjects where she documents figurative painting on a grand scale.

The concept of the painting is purely based on empowering Indigenous youth in an uplifting way that influences them to express their own storytelling. locals and tourists.
