Darwin Street Art Festival
Where The Gallery Meets The Street
Darwin Street Art Festival is based in the unique tropical city of Darwin, on Larrakia land in the North of Australia. This place is home to a creatively rich and diverse community of artists whose work has enlivened our streets and enriched our lives since 2017.
The Festival has been a catalyst for public arts and community, bringing local, national and international artists together to share their work in public spaces for all to enjoy. Over this time, the Festival has found a place in the hearts of locals and visitors who value the creative energy it has brought to Darwin.

DSAF is delivered by Proper Creative, a partnership between David Collins and Jesse Bell, both artists have a strong background in the rich history of graffiti and street art in Darwin and the NT. The festival is funded by the Northern Territory Government through Activate Darwin and supported by a number of other valued sponsors.
Since its inception in 2017 DSAF has transformed the streets of Darwin into a spectacular outdoor art gallery that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Vibrant, thought-provoking and accessible to all
Along with bringing to Darwin some of the biggest names in street and mural art in the world, DSAF works hard to enable and encourage local artists to increase their skills and be paid for their incredible work, as well as allowing them as much artistic vision and licence as possible.
Shadforth Lane in Darwin City is the locals-only laneway - all the pieces in this lane are done by artists local to the Northern Territory.
The pieces that you see in Darwin’s streets are vibrant, thought-provoking and accessible to all - something that DSAF is especially proud of.
If you’re visiting Darwin or even if you live here and want to know more about our street art there are lots of options to tour the art in our town and beyond.
DSAF Strategic Plan
In 2023 DSAF undertook a Strategic Plan to define our mission and values and guide the development of our festival for the next 5 years.
