Drapl

Travis Vinson also known as Drapl, has been obsessed with the creative freedom of graffiti/street art since age 14. Brisbane born he was always taught to chase his creative dreams. After graduating year 12 in 2000 the only thing that mattered was creating art and building things from anything he could source.

Early in his career, his art was sidetlined as he pursued a career as an air conditioning and electrical trade worker. During an intense Brisbane summer in 2006 he decided to leave his life as a tradesman and dedicate himself to his art, as he understood his life was meaningless without it. Starting his own mural business he rose quickly in Brisbane as a pioneer in the street art scene; painting an unprecedented number of murals. His style developed from a love of traditional sign writing though over the last decade has progressed into his widely sought after abstract portrait work.

In more recent years his move from city life to remote acreage, his work has become inspired by the divine workings of the universe, nature and spirit. Each artwork is created with a strong intention to open the viewers minds, uplift there spirits and add to the creation of a brighter future. Drapl believes, "All of us are creating our own reality yet only some of us are aware of it". Murals are a way forward in opening people’s minds and telling a range of stories that need to be heard.
