Tisha Tejaya
Tisha Tejaya is an award-winning artist and lawyer based on Larrakia Land, Northern Territory. Her art celebrates the adventures, food and culture of her multicultural community of migrants and refugees in the Northern Territory. In 2022 Tisha was a national ABC Trailblazer Winner, NT Young Achiever for Innovation, and Rural Women’s Award finalist; and in 2023 is the Artist in Residence at the Territory Wildlife Park.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This mural was inspired by Tisha's book 'Parap & Rapid Creek Market Pocketbook' which is filled with her stunning illustrations of local produce and people from the Rapid Creek Markets.
